Personality: family man (+): Shortly said, every move forward that Anthony makes is a direct product of the responsibility he feels towards his family. After witnessing the death of his father via bee sting at 18, Anthony has served as living head of the Bridgerton household, and holds the title of Viscount with no shortage of grief over his father's absence. He serves his family as best he can with the image of his father in tow, which regularly involves him using a critical mind rather than an empathetic one. He takes duty, responsibility, and his family's wellbeing more seriously than perhaps your average Viscount, wholly because of how much he really does love the entirety of his family. It is a motivator and driving force, his sole reason for existence. In fact, the only reason he really takes a leading role in the courting season for himself is because his duties as Viscount demand he make an heir — otherwise, he'd be perfectly content to stay alone and angry for the rest of his life. control freak (-): That said, he does not frequently see eye to eye with his family, as Anthony is largely a logical thinker, and the rest of his family are very artful and emotional. In his backwards way of thinking, which prizes security and stability over love and happiness, he feels the need to assert his opinion on all matters, and see them to fruition. He does, for instance, insert himself very deeply into Daphne's courting season and attempts to actively end her courtship with a suitor he does not think takes her seriously and does not approve of (despite their love for each other), and instead pairs her with a man that checks off all the boxes for him in what Daphne should have in a husband — debt free, utterly boring, not a smudge on his reputation. resentful (-): Because of all the effort he puts forward into maintaining his family, in a way almost no one really understands, he does at times reveal a parasitic side to his familial love. He does sacrifice a lot of himself and his happiness as Viscount, which perhaps is why he can ask for martyrdom so easily of his siblings and mother. When they are unmoved by his methods, and largely unresponsive due to a fair bit of disharmony in his communications with his family, he's capable of growing quite terse and short with people, even getting angry at times when his decisions are questioned. While he'd list being a gentleman among his attributes, the truth is that he is often too stubborn and jaded to be fully respectable. In a fit, he even tells Daphne, "You were always meant to leave this family, and I was always meant to stay." True, some part of him entirely loathes that he is the head of the household, because of all the freedoms such a role has taken away from him. self-loathing (-): In fact, some part of him loathes being the head of the household, simply because he knows he is not good at it. He knows his family is continually discontent with the decisions he makes for them, as well as he knows (or is convinced) that his father did not and would not struggle in all the same ways as Anthony. It is impossible to ignore comparisons between himself and his father, idealizing his childhood and the strength of the man who raised him, and feeling in all ways that he comes up short. He very bluntly states to his mother than he is aware he is a disappointment to her, and genuinely feels that it is the case — largely, Anthony lives on a "fake it until you make it" basis, with a lot of faking it, and very little making it. Powers and Abilities: he is just a regency era Guy, and has no real abilities to speak of other than playing pall mall and being irritating.
